Tropical Layered Smoothie

Now that warmer weather has arrived in most of the Northern Hemisphere, smoothies are working their way back into everyone's daily routine. It's such an easy way to start your day, refuel after a workout or deal with sugar cravings and snack attacks.

This delicious tropical layered smoothie is a fun way to play with flavors and colors to delight your taste buds AND your eyes. The tropical fruit blend pairs so well with the tropical flavor of Light Up and we can't get enough of the ice cream-like texture of blended frozen banana.

Top Layer

  • 1.5-2 cups of frozen mixed organic tropical fruit
(We are loving the organic blend from Costco with mango, pineapple, strawberry and peach)
  • 1-2 cups of plant-based milk
  • 1 scoop of Light Up

Bottom Layer

  • 1 to 2 frozen bananas
  • Add a small amount of plant-based milk to help with blending if you don't have a high speed blender

Blend each layer separately. Add more milk as needed to achieve desired consistency. We garnished our smoothie with dried pitaya (dragon fruit) chips, but that is not required.

You can also make this smoothie into a smoothie bowl! Just make sure to keep the consistency of the layers on the thicker side and then add cut up fruit, nuts, seeds, granola or whatever toppings you like.

Incorporating Light Up into your daily smoothies is an easy way to give your body the energy and focus you need to get everything on your to-do list done, as well as help your body recover from stress.

Don't forget to take a picture of your smoothie, post it on Facebook or Instagram and tag us! We'd love to feature your smoothie in a future post!
