The year coming to an end creates opportunity for lots of celebration and reflection. It's a perfect time to take note of all of your accomplishments, big and small, and give yourself credit for what you have been able to achieve. This was a tough year for a lot of people with huge changes (me included)! Keep your focus positive, let go of the things that didn't happen or didn't happen the way you wanted them to, and start to think about the exciting things you want to achieve in 2019. To support you in reaching those goals, here are five things you can do to live your best life in 2019!
#1: Move your body
Find a type of exercise that you really like and it will become a welcome part of your routine! And if you work out with a buddy, you are more likely to stick with it! If you don't have a workout buddy, join a group class! Moving your body releases endorphins that will always leave you feeling better than when you started.
#2: Practice gratitude
Focusing on the good things in your life attracts more of the same! Take a few minutes each day to write down what you are grateful for. People who practice gratitude regularly, have stronger immune systems, lower blood pressure and are happier overall!
#3: Treat yourself
Sometimes we are so focused on taking care of others that we forget to take care of ourselves! Treating yourself on a regular basis to something special can make a world of difference in your overall energy and health. Get a massage, a mani/pedi, a Reiki session, acupuncture, buy yourself flowers... all of these things will help you to reset, reduce stress and find peace!
#4: Give back
Making someone's day feels so good, doesn't it! It's an awesome way to boost your energy and improves your overall health and longevity. Find a local non-profit that you believe in and lend a hand. The more you give, the more your receive in return, so don't hold back!
You know how they say, "laughter is the best medicine"? Well it is! Laughter has so many health benefits, including boosting your immune system, decreasing pain, stress and anxiety, and preventing heart disease. Watch a funny movie when you're feeling down or get together with a friend who always makes you laugh and watch everything turn around.
